COVID-19 Malaysia: 158434 Cases, 120051 Healed, 601 Dead

Malaysia reported 3339 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, but discharged 2676 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 17 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2676 Patients Discharged!

At 6:45 PM on 17 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2676 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 120,051 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 75.8%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3339 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3339 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 158,434, with 37,782 active cases – a big increase of 656 cases.

They also shared that there are 35 additional patients in the ICU – 240 cases right now, and 14 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 93 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 46,833 cases, followed by Sabah with 43,644 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 18,127 cases, and Johor with 13,372 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 7 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 7 deaths today, which means a total of 601 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.38%.

Death #595 : Case 104843 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #596 : Case 118543 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and heart disease. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #597 : Case 120688 was a 93 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Death #598 : Case 140362 was a 61 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and pulmonary tuberculosis. She passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #599: Case 148498 was a 32 year-old Malaysian female, whose body was brought to the Tengku Ampuan Hospital in Selangor.

Death #600 : Case 152481 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #601 : Case 152513 was a 58 year-old foreign female, with a history of heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease. She passed away at the Tengku Ampuan Hospital in Selangor.

 

Day 220 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 220th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
