COVID-19 Malaysia: 161740 Cases, 122344 Healed, 605 Dead

Malaysia reported 3306 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but discharged 2293 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2293 Patients Discharged!

At 6:45 PM on 18 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2293 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 122,344 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 75.7%.


COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3306 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3306 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 161,740, with 38,791 active cases – a big increase of 1009 cases.

They also shared that there are 14 fewer patients in the ICU – 226 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 94 cases right now.


COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 48,046 cases, followed by Sabah with 44,076 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 18,377 cases, and Johor with 13,701 cases.


COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 4 deaths today, which means a total of 605 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #602 : Case 120858 was a 77 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, dyslipidemia, hyperthyroidism, and Adrenal Insufficiency. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #603 : Case 131052 was a 91 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease and gout. He passed away at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Terengganu.

Death #604 : Case 145018 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension and stroke. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #605 : Case 156403 was a 59 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and chronic liver disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.


Day 221 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 221st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
