COVID-19 Malaysia: 180455 Cases, 137019 Healed, 667 Dead

Malaysia reported a record 4275 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, but also discharged 4313 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 23 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4313 Patients Discharged!

At 6:15 PM on 23 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4313 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 137,019 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 75.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4275 New Cases!

The third wave continues with a new record 4275 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 180,455, with 42,814 active cases – a small drop of 45 cases.

They also shared that there are 9 additional patients in the ICU – 260 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 103 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states, as of yesterday.

Selangor is at the top with 53,384 cases, followed by Sabah with 46,360 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 20,970 cases, and Johor with 15,853 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 7 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 7 deaths today, which means a total of 667 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #661 : Case 135793 was a 69 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Melaka Hospital.

Death #662 : Case 140367 was a 50 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Johor.

Death #663 : Case 147394 was a 74 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, dementia and tuberculosis. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #664 : Case 152504 was a 42 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #665 : Case 173298 was a 82 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and stroke. She passed away at the Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in Selangor.

Death #666 : Case 174069 was a 46 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #667 : Case 174599 was a 52 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.

 

Day 226 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 226th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
