COVID-19 Malaysia: 190434 Cases, 149160 Healed, 700 Dead

Malaysia reported 3585 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths, but also discharged 4076 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 26 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4076 Patients Discharged!

At 6:05 PM on 26 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4076 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 149,160 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 78.3%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3585 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3585 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 2 cases imported from overseas
    – both in KL
  • 3583 local cases
    – 1295 cases in Selangor : 92 from existing clusters, 856 from close contact screening, 347 from assorted screening
    – 608 cases in KL : 68 from existing clusters, 26 from new Jalan Cochrane Cluster, 262 from close contact screening, 252 from assorted screening
    – 516 cases in Johor : 174 from existing clusters, 57 from new Jalan Platinum and Jalan Padi Mahsuri clusters, 125 from close contact screening, 160 from assorted screening
    – 303 cases in Sabah : 16 from existing clusters, 209 from close contact screening, 78 from assorted screening
    – 205 cases in Sarawak : 134 from existing clusters, 45 from close contact screening, 26 from assorted screening
    – 129 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 24 from existing clusters, 11 from new Intan Delima Cluster, 59 from close contact screening, 35 from assorted screening
    – 104 cases in Penang : 26 from existing clusters, 33 from close contact screening, 45 from assorted screening
    – 92 cases in Melaka : 29 from existing clusters, 39 from close contact screening, 24 from assorted screening
    – 88 cases in Kedah : 7 from existing clusters, 4 from new Keladi Saga Cluster, 48 from close contact screening, 29 from assorted screening
    – 76 cases in Kelantan : 3 from existing clusters, 43 from close contact screening, 30 from assorted screening
    – 76 cases in Terengganu : 13 from existing clusters, 8 from new Tembok Bukit Besi and Kampung Bukit Putera clusters, 32 from close contact screening, 23 from assorted screening
    – 58 cases in Perak : 10 from existing clusters, 31 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening
    – 15 cases in Pahang : 9 from existing clusters, 4 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
    – 15 cases in Putrajaya : 3 from existing clusters, 6 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
    – 2 cases in Perlis : 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 1 case in Labuan : from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 190,434, with 40,574 active cases – a big drop of 502 cases.

They also shared that there are 19 additional patients in the ICU – 280 cases right now, and 10 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 111 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 56,664 cases, followed by Sabah with 47,442 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 22,275 cases, and Johor with 17,276 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 11 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 11 deaths today, which means a total of 700 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #690 : Case 157946 was a 84 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, and hypertension. He passed away at the Taiping Hospital in Perak.

Death #691 : Case 170457 was a 77 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #692 : Case 182538 was a 84 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Sultanah Fatimah Hospital in Johor.

Death #693 : Case 184812 was a 49 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of epilepsy. She passed away at the Tanjung Karang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #694 : Case 185320 was a 82 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #695 : Case 185334 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Death #696 : Case 186470 was a 59 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #697 : Case 186490 was a 76 year-old Malaysian male who passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #698 : Case 189806 was a 42 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of obesity, obstructive sleep apnoea, and heart disease. His body was brought to the Penang Hospital.

Death #699 : Case 190157 was a 92 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and chronic obstructive airway disease. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #700 : Case 185400 was a 54 year-old foreign female, whose body was brought to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Day 14 Of COVID-19 MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 15th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 4 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
