Malaysia reported 4571 new COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths, but also discharged 4092 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 4 February 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4092 Patients Discharged!
At 6:14 PM on 4 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4092 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 181,886 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 78.6%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4571 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 4571 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 3 cases imported from overseas
– 2 in Selangor, 1 in KL - 4568 local cases
– 2054 cases in Selangor : 624 from existing clusters, 7 from new Jalan Industri Rawang, Jalan Gombak and Jalan Jasmine clusters, 727 from close contact screening, 696 from assorted screening
– 664 cases in Johor : 340 from existing clusters, 44 from new Palit Penyengat, Kampung Lukut and Jalan Jelutong clusters, 150 from close contact screening, 130 from assorted screening
– 480 cases in KL : 76 from existing clusters, 1 from new Jalan Gombak Cluster, 201 from close contact screening, 202 from assorted screening
– 270 cases in Sarawak : 106 from existing clusters, 12 from new Jalan Pengiran Cluster, 86 from close contact screening, 66 from assorted screening
– 238 cases in Melaka : 211 from existing clusters, 15 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening
– 175 cases in Sabah : 8 from existing clusters, 124 from close contact screening, 43 from assorted screening
– 163 cases in Perak : 103 from existing clusters, 36 from close contact screening, 24 from assorted screening
– 157 cases in Penang : 46 from existing clusters, 22 from close contact screening, 89 from assorted screening
– 100 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 3 from existing clusters, 10 from new Permata Satu Cluster, 28 from close contact screening, 62 from assorted screening
– 78 cases in Pahang : 56 from existing clusters, 8 from new Tantau Tanjung and Kampung Pulau Jawa clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 69 cases in Terengganu : 7 from existing clusters, 47 from close contact screening, 15 from assorted screening
– 51 cases in Kedah : 14 from existing clusters, 19 from close contact screening, 18 from assorted screening
– 48 cases in Kelantan : 2 from existing clusters, 34 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening
– 20 cases in Putrajaya : 4 from existing clusters, 5 from close contact screening, 11 from assorted screening
– 1 case in Labuan : from assorted screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 231,483, with 48,771 active cases – a big increase of 462 cases.
They also shared that there is 1 additional patient in the ICU – 308 cases right now, and 6 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 135 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 74,069 cases, followed by Sabah with 49,785 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 28,054 cases, and Johor with 24,962 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 17 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 17 deaths today, which means a total of 826 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.36%.
Death #810 : Case 140299 was a 53 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity. She passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.
Death #811 : Case 162029 was a 69 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and lymphoma. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #812 : Case 167032 was a 4 month-old Malaysian male, with history of heart disease. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.
Death #813 : Case 171338 was a 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of intestinal cancer. He passed away at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.
Death #814 : Case 172347 was a 82 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, stroke and heart disease. He passed away at the Melaka Hospital.
Death #815 : Case 172416 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity. His body was brought to the Muadzam Shah Hospital in Pahang.
Death #816 : Case 173329 was a 35 year-old Malaysian male, with history of obesity and gout. His body was brought to the Banting Hospital in Selangor.
Death #817 : Case 182988 was a 79 year-old Malaysian male, with history of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He passed away at Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #818 : Case 186411 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, and gout. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #819 : Case 194383 was a 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and stroke. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #820 : Case 201606 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.
Death #821 : Case 224094 was a 63 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #822 : Case 226746 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Tengku Anis Hospital in Kelantan.
Death #823 : Case 230009 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Johor.
Death #824 : Case 231029 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, gout, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #825 : Case 170280 was a 78 year-old foreign male, who passed away at the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.
Death #826 : Case 183478 was a 34 year-old foreign male, whose body was brought to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Pahang.
Day 23 Of COVID-19 MCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 23rd day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.
Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.
Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
