Malaysia reported 3731 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths, but also discharged 3369 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 7 February 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3369 Patients Discharged!
On 7 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3369 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 190,339 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 78.5%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3731 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 3731 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 8 cases imported from overseas
– 6 in KL, 2 in Johor - 3723 local cases
– 1606 cases in Selangor : 317 from existing clusters, 103 from new Lembah Selatan construction site, Jalan Began and Ampang Campuran clusters, 605 from close contact screening, 581 from assorted screening
– 497 cases in Johor : 109 from existing clusters, 30 from new Jalan Gangsa Hua Cluster, 87 from close contact screening, 271 from assorted screening
– 366 cases in KL : 48 from existing clusters, 168 from close contact screening, 150 from assorted screening
– 313 cases in Melaka : 264 from existing clusters, 26 from close contact screening, 23 from assorted screening
– 250 cases in Penang : 197 from existing clusters, 7 from close contact screening, 46 from assorted screening
– 219 cases in Sarawak : 112 from existing clusters, 34 from new Seruas Cluster, 48 from close contact screening, 59 from assorted screening
– 160 cases in Sabah : 16 from existing clusters, 97 from close contact screening, 47 from assorted screening
– 92 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 73 from existing clusters, 18 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 71 cases in Perak : 29 from existing clusters, 5 from new Taman Segar and Lorong Mawar clusters, 18 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening
– 43 cases in Kedah : 15 from existing clusters, 9 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening
– 34 cases in Pahang : 30 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 32 cases in Kelantan : 1 from existing cluster, 23 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
– 29 cases in Terengganu : 9 from existing clusters, 16 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 9 cases in Putrajaya : 6 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 2 cases in Perlis : both from assorted screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 242,452, with 51,241 active cases – a large increase of 347 cases.
They also shared that there are 13 fewer patients in the ICU – 292 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 140 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 78,384 cases, followed by Sabah with 50,374 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 29,223 cases, and Johor with 26,644 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 15 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 15 deaths today, which means a total of 872 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.36%.
Death #858 : Case 168768 was a 74 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #859 : Case 177599 was a 18 year-old Malaysian female, with history of asthma. Her body was brought to the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #860 : Case 188436 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #861 : Case 189764 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, and hypertension. He passed away at the Penang Hospital.
Death #862 : Case 189881 was a 65 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. She passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.
Death #863 : Case 207953 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. His body was brought to the KL Hospital.
Death #864 : Case 218896 was a 93 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, and COAD. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #865 : Case 224386 was a 80 year-old Malaysian female, with history of stroke and dyslipidemia. She passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #866 : Case 228687 was a 77 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, stroke, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #867 : Case 232300 was a 94 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away at Serdang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #868 : Case 235133 was a 88 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and adrenal insufficiency. He passed away at PPUM in Selangor.
Death #869 : Case 236577 was a 37 year-old Malaysian female, with history of chronic kidney disease. Her body was brought to the Beaufort Hospital in Sabah.
Death #870 : Case 236651 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #871 : Case 236796 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, asthma, dyslipidemia, obesity and Empty Sella Syndrome. She passed away at Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #872 : Case 237569 was a 93 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital in Johor.
Day 26 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 26th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.
Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.
Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
