COVID-19 Malaysia: 248316 Cases, 196566 Healed, 909 Dead

Malaysia reported 2764 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths, but also discharged 3887 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 9 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3887 Patients Discharged!

On 9 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3887 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 196,566 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 79.2%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2764 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2764 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 248,316, with 50,841 active cases – a large drop of 1136 cases.

They also shared that there are 7 additional patients in the ICU – 289 cases right now, and 7 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 127 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 80,442 cases, followed by Sabah with 50,723 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 29,940 cases, and Johor with 27,655 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 13 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 13 deaths today, which means a total of 909 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #897 : Case 125451 was a 74 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #898 : Case 129933 was a 49 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #899 : Case 173370 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #900 : Case 175523 was a 66 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #901 : Case 179807 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. He passed away at Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #902 : Case 210176 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at Selayang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #903 : Case 218244 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. She passed away at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.

Death #904 : Case 221126 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, Thalassemia, chronic kidney disease and stroke. He passed away at Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #905 : Case 225884 was a 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Johor.

Death #906 : Case 228957 was a 71 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and gout. She passed away at Ampang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #907 : Case 235176 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #908 : Case 243642 was a 78 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. He passed away at Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #909 : Case 243643 was a 79 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

 

Day 28 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 28th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
