Malaysia reported 3318 new COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths, but also discharged 3505 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 12 February 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3505 Patients Discharged!
On 12 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3505 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 205,774 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 79.7%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3318 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 3318 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 7 cases imported from overseas
– 5 in KL, 1 in Selangor, 1 in Johor - 3311 local cases
– 1213 cases in Selangor : 411 from existing clusters, 78 from new Damar construction site and Taman Industri clusters, 367 from close contact screening, 357 from assorted screening
– 741 cases in Johor : 145 from existing clusters, 378 from new Jalan Seelong, Perindustrian Electronik, Jalan Besar Pontian, Perindustrian Pelepas and Ladang Pekan clusters, 105 from close contact screening, 113 from assorted screening
– 369 cases in KL : 68 from existing clusters, 84 from new Pantai Dalam Damar construction site cluster, 106 from close contact screening, 111 from assorted screening
– 188 cases in Kedah : 20 from existing clusters, 136 from new Selambau Cluster, 16 from close contact screening, 16 from assorted screening
– 149 cases in Penang : 72 from existing clusters, 28 from close contact screening, 49 from assorted screening
– 118 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 5 from existing clusters, 20 from close contact screening, 93 from assorted screening
– 118 cases in Sabah : 13 from existing clusters, 75 from close contact screening, 30 from assorted screening
– 99 cases in Perak : 30 from existing clusters, 25 from new Jalan Jelapang, Jalan Perusahaan Tiger and Kampung Teluk clusters, 14 from close contact screening, 30 from assorted screening
– 83 cases in Sarawak : 16 from existing clusters, 15 from close contact screening, 52 from assorted screening
– 79 cases in Kelantan : 6 from existing clusters, 13 from new Pangkal Changgong Cluster, 30 from close contact screening, 30 from assorted screening
– 72 cases in Terengganu : 9 from existing clusters, 56 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 45 cases in Melaka : 17 from existing clusters, 3 from new Berendam Teknologi Cluster, 11 from close contact screening, 14 from assorted screening
– 30 cases in Pahang : 12 from existing clusters, 11 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 6 cases in Putrajaya : 1 from new Damar construction cluster, 3 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 1 case in Labuan : from existing cluster
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 258,306, with 51,579 active cases – a drop of 204 cases.
They also shared that there is 1 fewer patient in the ICU – 258 cases right now, and 3 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 119 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 84,495 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,115 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 31,157 cases, and Johor with 29,543 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 17 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 17 deaths today, which means a total of 953 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #937 : Case 177388 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, chronic kidney disease and gout. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #938 : Case 190573 was a 85 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #939 : Case 193606 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of tuberculosis. She passed away at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.
Death #940 : Case 210131 was a 68 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the KL Hospital.
Death #941 : Case 226690 was a 84 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, heart disease and lymphoma. He passed away at Melaka Hospital.
Death #942 : Case 232850 was a 91 year-old Malaysian male, with history of heart disease and intestinal cancer. He passed away at Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.
Death #943 : Case 234491 was a 67 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. She passed away at Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #944 : Case 238592 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and gout. He passed away at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kelantan.
Death #945 : Case 240215 was a 97 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension. She passed away at Shah Alam Hospital in Selangor.
Death #946 : Case 243813 was a 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, chronic kidney disease and stroke. He passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #947 : Case 246829 was a 85 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and stroke. She passed away at the KL Hospital.
Death #948 : Case 248262 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and asthma. Her body was brought to the Raub Hospital in Pahang.
Death #949 : Case 250975 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of chronic lung disease. He passed away at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.
Death #950 : Case 251420 was a 79 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, and hypertension. She passed away at Bintulu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #951 : Case 252013 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, dyslipidemia and lung fibrosis. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #952 : Case 253150 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with history of chronic lung disease. He passed away at KL Hospital.
Death #953 : Case 243461 was a 59 year-old foreign male, with history of hypertension and stroke. He passed away at Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
Day 31 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 31st day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.
Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.
Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
