COVID-19 Malaysia: 261805 Cases, 209289 Healed, 958 Dead

Malaysia reported 3499 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, but also discharged 3515 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 13 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3515 Patients Discharged!

On 13 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3515 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 209,289 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 79.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3499 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3499 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

• 1 case imported from overseas
  – in Selangor
• 3498 local cases
  – 1345 cases in Selangor : 433 from existing clusters, 38 from new Lebuh Keluli and Industri Selesa clusters, 581 from close contact screening, 292 from assorted screening
  – 802 cases in Johor : 50 from existing clusters, 361 from new Persiaran Synergi Utama, Jalan i-Park Satu and Jalan Lengkok Satu clusters, 183 from close contact screening, 208 from assorted screening
  – 511 cases in KL : 23 from existing clusters, 312 from new Lorong Peel construction site, Jalil Utama construction site, and Jalan Tun Razak clusters, 91 from close contact screening, 85 from assorted screening
  – 152 cases in Sarawak : 79 from existing clusters, 42 from close contact screening, 31 from assorted screening
  – 138 cases in Penang : 47 from existing clusters, 26 from close contact screening, 65 from assorted screening
  – 121 cases in Perak : 62 from existing clusters, 51 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
  – 111 cases in Kedah : 46 from existing clusters, 26 from close contact screening, 39 from assorted screening
  – 101 cases in Sabah : 7 from existing clusters, 68 from close contact screening, 26 from assorted screening
  – 58 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 4 from existing clusters, 27 from new Persiaran Bunga Tanjung Cluster, 15 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening
  – 50 cases in Melaka : 27 from existing clusters, 15 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
  – 46 cases in Terengganu : 12 from existing clusters, 7 from new Bukit Tengah Cluster, 21 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
  – 44 cases in Kelantan : 2 from existing clusters, 21 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening
  – 13 cases in Pahang : 5 from existing clusters, 7 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
  – 3 cases in Putrajaya : 1 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
  – 2 cases in Labuan : 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
  – 2 cases in Perlis : both from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 261,805, with 51,558 active cases – a drop of 21 cases.

They also shared that there are 5 additional patients in the ICU – 263 cases right now, and 1 fewer patient requiring respiratory support – 118 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 85,840 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,216 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 31,668 cases, and Johor with 30,345 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 5 deaths today, which means a total of 958 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #954 : Case 152927 was a 32 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #955 : Case 210225 was a 56 year-old Malaysian male, whose body was brought to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Selangor.

Death #956 : Case 213659 was a 68 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #957 : Case 234808 was a 60 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, liver cirrhosis and primary aldosteronism. She passed away at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Terengganu.

Death #958 : Case 252679 was a 20 year-old Malaysian male, with history of lymphoma. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

 

Day 32 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 32nd day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :

• Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
• Avoid public events and crowds
• Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
• If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
