Malaysia reported 2176 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths, but also discharged 4521 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 15 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4521 Patients Discharged!

On 15 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4521 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 218,335 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 81.9%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2176 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2176 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 1 case imported from overseas
    – in KL
  • 2175 local cases
    – 910 cases in Selangor : 107 from existing clusters, 42 from new Jalan Cheras, Jalan Tiga Belas, Jalan Bursa, Jalan Tropicana and Jalan Kepong clusters, 575 from close contact screening, 186 from assorted screening
    – 269 cases in Johor : 33 from existing clusters, 131 from new Jalan Senai Utama Cluster, 61 from close contact screening, 44 from assorted screening
    – 246 cases in Sarawak : 36 from existing clusters, 41 from close contact screening, 169 from assorted screening
    – 181 cases in KL : 40 from existing clusters, 12 from Jalan Jinjang Cluster, 56 from close contact screening, 73 from assorted screening
    – 145 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 32 from existing clusters, 58 from close contact screening, 55 from assorted screening
    – 97 cases in Sabah : 26 from existing clusters, 52 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening
    – 91 cases in Penang : 18 from existing clusters, 25 from new Persiaran Mutiara construction site and Jalan Baru clusters, 20 from close contact screening, 28 from assorted screening
    – 83 cases in Perak : 60 from existing clusters, 4 from new Tembok Tapah Cluster, 14 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
    – 53 cases in Terengganu : 4 from existing clusters, 19 from new Guntong Dalam and Pengkalan Teras clusters, 9 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening
    – 33 cases in Kedah : 11 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening
    – 31 cases in Kelantan : 8 from existing clusters, 17 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
    – 15 cases in Pahang : 1 from existing cluster, 11 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
    – 14 cases in Melaka : 6 from new Teknologi Lot Enam Cluster, 6 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
    – 7 cases in Putrajaya : 4 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 266,445, with 47,135 active cases – a large drop of 2355 cases.

They also shared that there are no additional patients in the ICU – 260 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 112 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 87,853 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,429 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 32,004 cases, and Johor with 31,106 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 10 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 10 deaths today, which means a total of 975 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #966 : Case 138228 was a 57 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension, dyslipidemia and asthma. She passed away at the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #967 : Case 220299 was a 65 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and stroke. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #968 : Case 228695 was a 71 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, diabetes and stroke. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #969 : Case 236786 was a 71 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, heart disease and COAD. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #970 : Case 252671 was a 96 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and breast cancer. She passed away at PPUM in Selangor.

Death #971 : Case 261999 was a 69 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #972 : Case 262900 was a 88 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, and hypertension. He passed away at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Selangor.

Death #973 : Case 263120 was a 85 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension, heart disease and Henoch Schonlein Purpura. She passed away at Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #974 : Case 263445 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital in Johor.

Death #975 : Case 263849 was a 91 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and dyslipidemia. She passed away at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.

Day 34 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 34th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
