COVID-19 Malaysia: 269165 Cases, 224053 Healed, 983 Dead

Malaysia reported 2720 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths, but also discharged 5718 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 16 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5718 Patients Discharged!

On 16 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 5718 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 224,053 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 83.2%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2720 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2720 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 269,165, with 44,129 active cases – a large drop of 3006 cases.

They also shared that there are 7 fewer patients in the ICU – 253 cases right now, and 6 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 118 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 89,153 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,561 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 32,322 cases, and Johor with 31,557 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 8 deaths today, which means a total of 983 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #976 : Case 203364 was a 84 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #977 : Case 235145 was a 74 year-old Malaysian male, with history of Parkinson’s Disease. He passed away at the KL Hospital.

Death #978 : Case 236545 was a 86 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and diabetes. She passed away at the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #979 : Case 245772 was a 56 year-old Malaysian male, with history of low immunity. He passed away at the Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #980 : Case 247013 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, heart disease and pulmonary embolism. He passed away at KL Hospital.

Death #981 : Case 256598 was a 76 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #982 : Case 265864 was a 86 year-old Malaysian male, with history of chronic lung disease. He passed away at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.

Death #983 : Case 246908 was a 47 year-old foreign male, who passed away at KL Hospital.

 

Day 35 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 35th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
