COVID-19 in Malaysia : 272163 Cases, 229762 Discharged, 1005 Dead

Malaysia reported 2998 new COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths, but also discharged 5709 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 17 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5709 Patients Discharged!

On 17 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 5709 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 229,762 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 84.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2998 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2998 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 272,163, with 41,396 active cases – a large drop of 2733 cases.

They also shared that there are 22 fewer patients in the ICU – 231 cases right now, and 3 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 115 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 90,535 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,655 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 32,548 cases, and Johor with 31,993 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 22 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 22 deaths today, which means a total of 1,005 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #984 : Case 143908 was a 41 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. She passed away at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.

Death #985 : Case 162643 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #986 : Case 177644 was a 73 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #987 : Case 181263 was a 69 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #988 : Case 186318 was a 88 year-old Malaysian female, with history of dyslipidemia. She passed away at  the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.

Death #989 : Case 195904 was a 48 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #990 : Case 220298 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. He passed away at Selayang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #991 : Case 228705 was a 65 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and heart disease. She passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #992 : Case 236416 was a 84 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. She passed away at Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #993 : Case 243043 was a 83 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #994 : Case 250333 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and stroke. He passed away at Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #995 : Case 257989 was a 77 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Kedah.

Death #996 : Case 261989 was a 71 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #997 : Case 263001 was a 82 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #998 : Case 266180 was a 73 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. His body was brought to the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #999 : Case 267146 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the KL Hospital.

Death #1000 : Case 267710 was a 100 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and asthma. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1001 : Case 268133 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of heart disease and stroke. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1002 : Case 268164 was a 49 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes. She passed away at the KL Hospital.

Death #1003 : Case 268562 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and deep vein thrombosis. He passed away at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.

Death #1004 : Case 268700 was a 49 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. He passed away at Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1005 : Case 268952 was a 75 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at Bintulu Hospital in Sarawak.

 

Day 36 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 36th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
