Malaysia reported 2712 new COVID-19 cases and 25 deaths, but also discharged 5320 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5320 Patients Discharged!
On 18 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 5320 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 235,082 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 85.5%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2712 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 2712 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 4 cases imported from overseas
– 2 in Johor, 1 in KL, 1 in Sarawak - 2708 local cases
– 1013 cases in Selangor : 412 from existing clusters, 85 from new Jalan Bukit Kemuning, Jalan Jitu, Jalan Hulu Tinggi, Mayang and Jalan Industri Kidamai clusters, 298 from close contact screening, 218 from assorted screening
– 434 cases in Johor : 40 from existing clusters, 134 from new Perindustrian Fasa Dau, Jalan Sri Putri, Jalan Perindustrian Estate, Jalan DPB Tiga and Jalan Tebrau Dua clusters, 110 from close contact screening, 140 from assorted screening
– 211 cases in KL : 43 from existing clusters, 6 from new Mediacity Cluster, 73 from close contact screening, 89 from assorted screening
– 199 cases in Sarawak : 22 from existing clusters, 42 from close contact screening, 135 from assorted screening
– 198 cases in Perak : 22 from existing clusters, 158 from new Changkat Jong Cluster, 10 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
– 182 cases in Kedah : 165 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 116 cases in Penang : 61 from existing clusters, 2 from new Lintang Kampung Jawa Cluster, 21 from close contact screening, 32 from assorted screening
– 114 cases in Sabah : 20 from existing clusters, 14 from new Lot Satu and Lot Tujuh clusters, 60 from close contact screening, 20 from assorted screening
– 81 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 14 from existing clusters, 34 from close contact screening, 33 from assorted screening
– 52 cases in Pahang : 3 from existing clusters, 40 from new Jalan Telok Ira Cluster, 6 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 43 cases in Kelantan : 1 from existing cluster, 25 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening
– 38 cases in Melaka : 22 from existing clusters, 6 from close contact screening, 10 from assorted screening
– 19 cases in Terengganu : 5 from existing clusters, 1 from new Kampung Jawek Cluster, 11 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 7 cases in Putrajaya : 2 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 6 cases in Perlis : all from assorted screening
– 5 cases in Labuan : 3 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 274,875, with 38,763 active cases – a large drop of 2633 cases.
They also shared that there are 4 fewer patients in the ICU – 227 cases right now, and 12 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 103 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 90,535 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,655 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 32,548 cases, and Johor with 31,993 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 25 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 25 deaths today – the highest daily death toll so far. That means a total of 1,030 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #1006 : Case 141532 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1007 : Case 183158 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital.
Death #1008 : Case 207035 was a 82 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1009 : Case 241977 was a 73 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #1010 : Case 251336 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #1011 : Case 267711 was a 81 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1012 : Case 267712 was a 79 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the National Heart Institute in KL.
Death #1013 : Case 267714 was a 79 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and heart disease. She passed away at Serdang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1014 : Case 267715 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. Her body was brought to the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1015 : Case 267717 was a 73 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidemia and heart disease. He passed away at Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1016 : Case 267719 was a 71 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1017 : Case 267721 was a 68 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and stroke. She passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1022 : Case 267874 was a 40 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. His body was brought to the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1027 : Case 236399 was a 3 year-old foreign female, with history of brain cancer. She passed away at Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.
Death #1028 : Case 267709 was a 100 year-old foreign female, with history of hypertension, heart disease, anaemia, stroke and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at Shah Alam Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1029 : Case 267729 was a 55 year-old foreign female, with history of hypertension. Her body was brought to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1030 : Case 267730 was a 47 year-old foreign male, whose body was brought to the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.
Day 37 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 37th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.
Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.
Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
