COVID-19 in Malaysia : 280272 Cases, 244753 Discharged, 1051 Dead

Malaysia reported 2461 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths, but also discharged 4782 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 20 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4782 Patients Discharged!

On 20 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4782 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 244,971 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 86.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2461 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2461 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 280,272, with 34,468 active cases – a large drop of 2329 cases.

They also shared that there are 13 fewer patients in the ICU – 207 cases right now, and 13 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 91 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 93,527 cases, followed by Sabah with 51,979 cases, Johor with 33,382 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 33,217 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 8 deaths today. That means a total of 1,051 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.38%.

Death #1044 : Case 158122 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1045 : Case 218917 was a 49 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and Critical Limb Ischaemia. He passed away at the Miri Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1046 : Case 242026 was a 46 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Bintulu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1047 : Case 244987 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of laryngeal cancer. He passed away at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.

Death #1048 : Case 251342 was a 58 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at  the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1049 : Case 266369 was a 70 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension. She passed away at the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kelantan.

Death #1050 : Case 269875 was a 81 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1051 : Case 275947 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. His body was brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

 

Day 39 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 39th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
