COVID-19 in Malaysia : 291774 Cases, 260009 Discharged, 1088 Dead

Malaysia reported 3545 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, but also discharged 3331 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 24 February 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3331 Patients Discharged!

On 24 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3331 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 260,009 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 89.1%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3545 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3545 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 291,774, with 30,677 active cases – an increase of 202 cases.

They also shared that there are 7 fewer patients in the ICU – 189 cases right now, and 4 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 88 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 96,818 cases, followed by Sabah with 52,373 cases, Johor with 34,770 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 34,179 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 12 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 12 deaths today. That means a total of 1,088 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1077 : Case 246555 was a 72 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and gout. She passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1078 : Case 247012 was a 69 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1079 : Case 248287 was a 64 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and stroke. He passed away at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Terengganu.

Death #1080 : Case 278811 was a 74 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension. His body was brought to the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1081 : Case 285940 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and heart disease. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1082 : Case 287337 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the KL Hospital.

Death #1083 : Case 287611 was a 84 year-old Malaysian male, with history of stroke. He passed away at the Penang Hospital

Death #1084 : Case 289610 was a 98 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away at the KL Hospital

Death #1085 : Case 289611 was a 90 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the KL Hospital

Death #1086 : Case 289612 was a 75 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the KL Hospital

Death #1087 : Case 289613 was a 68 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the KL Hospital

Death #1088 : Case 289614 was a 52 year-old foreign male, who passed away at the KL Hospital.

 

Day 43 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 43rd day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 18 February, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
