COVID-19 in Malaysia : 302580 Cases, 275903 Discharged, 1135 Dead

Malaysia reported 1828 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, but discharged 2486 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 1 March 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2486 Patients Discharged!

On 1 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2486 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 275,903 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 91.6%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1828 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 1828 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 7 cases imported from overseas
    – 5 in KL, 1 in Selangor, 1 in Johor
  • 1821 local cases
    – 489 cases in Johor : 39 from existing clusters, 363 from new Jalan Kempas Tiga, Kampung Sungai Burung and Jalan Wawasan 12 clusters, 51 from close contact screening, 36 from assorted screening
    – 452 cases in Selangor : 105 from existing clusters, 8 from new Jalan Melati and Desa Empat clusters, 234 from close contact screening, 105 from assorted screening
    – 220 cases in Sarawak : 18 from existing clusters, 84 from close contact screening, 118 from assorted screening
    – 167 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 139 from existing clusters, 13 from close contact screening, 15 from assorted screening
    – 144 cases in Perak : 132 from existing clusters, 5 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
    – 104 cases in Sabah : 31 from existing clusters, 49 from close contact screening, 24 from assorted screening
    – 85 cases in Penang : 29 from existing clusters, 19 from close contact screening, 37 from assorted screening
    – 70 cases in KL : 6 from existing clusters, 4 from new Jalan Cempedak Cluster, 28 from close contact screening, 32 from assorted screening
    – 36 cases in Kelantan : 8 from existing clusters, 9 from new Bukit Marak Cluster, 14 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
    – 16 cases in Kedah : 4 from existing clusters, 8 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
    – 15 cases in Terengganu : 5 from existing clusters, 9 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 8 cases in Melaka : all from existing clusters, 5 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
    – 8 cases in Pahang : 1 from existing cluster, 6 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 6 cases in Putrajaya : 2 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 1 case in Perlis : from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 302,580, with 25,542 active cases – a big drop of 663 cases.

They also shared that there are 4 fewer patients in the ICU – 198 cases right now, and 3 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 90 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 100,346 cases, followed by Sabah with 52,990 cases, Johor with 36,447 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 35,048 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 5 deaths today. That means a total of 1,135 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.38%.

Death #1131 : Case 191534 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with history of kidney disease, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and SLE. She passed away at the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1132 : Case 192195 was a 75 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, stroke, heart disease, chronic lung disease, Thalassemia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome . He passed away at the PPUM Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1133 : Case 244006 was a 67 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and chronic liver disease. She passed away at the PPUM Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1134 : Case 267788 was a 32 year-old Malaysian female, with history of heart disease. She passed away at the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1135 : Case 300691 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and heart disease. He passed away at the Melaka Hospital.

Day 48 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 48th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 4 March, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
