COVID-19 in Malaysia : 310097 Cases, 286904 Discharged, 1159 Dead

Malaysia reported 2154 new COVID-19 cases and 6 deaths, but discharged 3275 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 5 March 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3275 Patients Discharged!

On 5 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 3275 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 286,904 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 92.5%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2154 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2154 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 310,097, with 22,034 active cases – a big drop of 1127 cases.

They also shared that there are 9 fewer patients in the ICU – 184 cases right now, and 12 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 87 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 103,082 cases, followed by Sabah with 53,313 cases, Johor with 37,704 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 35,513 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 6 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 6 deaths today. That means a total of 1,159 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1154 : Case 285696 was a 52 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and stroke. She passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Death #1155 : Case 306021 was a 78 year-old Malaysian female, with history of cancer. She passed away at the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1156 : Case 306058 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1157 : Case 306494 was a 87 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1158 : Case 306496 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with history of heart disease and empyema. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1159 : Case 306497 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and heart disease. His body was brought to the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.

 

Day 52 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 52nd day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 4 March, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
