Malaysia reported 1683 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths, but discharged 2506 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2506 Patients Discharged!
On 7 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2506 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 291,958 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 93.1%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1683 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 1683 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 10 cases imported from overseas
– 9 in KL, 1 in Selangor - 1673 local cases
– 745 cases in Selangor : 177 from existing clusters, 22 from new Jalan Sungai and Kemuning Enam clusters, 417 from close contact screening, 106 from assorted screening.
– 201 cases in Sarawak : 38 from existing clusters, 44 from new Jalan Awang and Kiba clusters, 102 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening
– 172 cases in Penang : 56 from existing clusters, 42 from close contact screening, 74 from assorted screening
– 158 cases in Johor : 33 from existing clusters, 19 from new Jalan Industri Tiga Cluster, 59 from close contact screening, 47 from assorted screening
– 116 cases in KL : 28 from existing clusters, 12 from new Jalan Satu construction site cluster, 32 from close contact screening, 44 from assorted screening
– 99 cases in Sabah : 20 from existing cluster, 11 from new Industri Inanam Cluster, 39 from close contact screening, 29 from assorted screening
– 48 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 41 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 48 cases in Perak : 29 from existing clusters, 12 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 24 cases in Perlis : 13 from new DTI Persiaran Wawasan cluster, 11 from assorted screening
– 15 cases in Kedah : 5 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 12 cases in Kelantan : 3 from existing clusters, 7 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 12 cases in Pahang : 1 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 10 cases in Terengganu : 1 from existing cluster, 7 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 8 cases in Labuan : 4 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 3 cases in Melaka : 1 from existing cluster, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 1 case in Putrajaya : from close contact screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 313,460, with 20,333 active cases – a big drop of 826 cases.
They also shared that there are 2 additional patients in the ICU – 174 cases right now, and 3 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 81 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 104,654 cases, followed by Sabah with 53,486 cases, Johor with 38,001 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 35,719 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 3 deaths today. That means a total of 1,169 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #1167 : Case 175413 was a 78 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1168 : Case 273211 was a 85 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension. She passed away at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Pahang.
Death #1169 : Case 293562 was a 79 year-old Malaysian female, with history of hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney disease. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Day 54 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 54th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 4 March, 2021.
Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.
Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
