COVID-19 in Malaysia : 314989 Cases, 294034 Discharged, 1177 Dead

Malaysia reported 1529 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths, but discharged 2076 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 8 March 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2076 Patients Discharged!

On 8 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2076 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 294,034 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 93.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1529 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 1529 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 314,989, with 19,778 active cases – a big drop of 555 cases.

They also shared that there are 14 fewer patients in the ICU – 160 cases right now, and 2 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 79 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 105,380 cases, followed by Sabah with 53,557 cases, Johor with 38,121 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 35,790 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 8 deaths today. That means a total of 1,177 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1170 : Case 237414 was a 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and heart disease. He passed away at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #1171 : Case 275930 was a 89 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, stroke and heart disease. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1172 : Case 297508 was a 81 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. He passed away at the Penang Hospital.

Death #1173 : Case 307693 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of anaemia. He passed away at the Kapit Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1174 : Case 311321 was a 85 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Kepala Batas Hospital in Penang.

Death #1175 : Case 312734 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #1176 : Case 312777 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of kidney cancer. He passed away at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.

Death #1177 : Case 308832 was a 75 year-old foreign male, with history of stroke. His body was brought to the Keningau Hospital in Sabah.

 

Day 55 Of MCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 55th day of the Movement Control Order 2.0 (MCO 2.0) which will last until 4 March, 2021.

Under MCO 2.0, only critical businesses are allowed to reopen, with interstate and inter-district travel restrictions.

Public events, entertainment outlet and group sports are forbidden. Even schools are closed with education mostly conducted online.
