Malaysia reported 1448 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, but discharged 2137 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 10 March 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2137 Patients Discharged!
On 10 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2137 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 296,379 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 93.7%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1448 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 1448 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 10 cases imported from overseas
– 8 in Johor, 2 in Selangor - 1438 local cases
– 559 cases in Selangor : 275 from existing clusters, 11 from Sungai Puteh and Dagang Permai clusters, 198 from close contact screening, 75 from assorted screening.
– 265 cases in Johor : 45 from existing clusters, 123 from new Parit Penyengat Barat and Pona clusters, 46 from close contact screening, 51 from assorted screening
– 199 cases in Sarawak : 58 from existing clusters, 2 from new Melor Cluster, 96 from close contact screening, 43 from assorted screening
– 103 cases in KL : 37 from existing clusters, 21 from close contact screening, 45 from assorted screening
– 99 cases in Penang : 41 from existing clusters, 25 from close contact screening, 33 from assorted screening
– 83 cases in Perak : 71 from existing clusters, 8 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 54 cases in Sabah : 1 from existing cluster, 39 from close contact screening, 14 from assorted screening
– 20 cases in Kedah : 1 from existing cluster, 7 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening
– 19 cases in Kelantan : 7 from existing clusters, 5 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
– 11 cases in Melaka : 5 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
– 10 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 9 from existing clusters, 1 from assorted screening
– 8 cases in Terengganu : 3 from existing clusters, 4 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 7 cases in Perlis : 2 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 1 case in Pahang : from close contact screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 317,717, with 18,010 active cases – a big drop of 694 cases.
They also shared that there are 4 fewer patients in the ICU – 151 cases right now, and 4 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 72 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 106,405 cases, followed by Sabah with 53,675 cases, Johor with 38,559 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 36,012 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 5 deaths today. That means a total of 1,191 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #1187 : Case 222406 was a 43 year-old Malaysian male, with history of COPD. He passed away at the Melaka Hospital.
Death #1188 : Case 278706 was a 71 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and intestinal cancer. He passed away at the PPUM Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1189 : Case 303269 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #1190 : Case 315126 was a 72 year-old Malaysian female, with history of stroke and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1181 : Case 315682 was a 48 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, chronic kidney disease and peripheral vascular disease. He passed away at the Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor.
Day 57 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 57th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 18 March, 2021.
Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
