Malaysia reported 1575 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths, but discharged 2042 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 12 March 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2042 Patients Discharged!
On 12 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2042 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 302,662 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 94.3%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1575 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 1575 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 7 cases imported from overseas
– 5 in KL, 1 in Johor, 1 in Sabah - 1568 local cases
– 751 cases in Selangor : 111 from existing clusters, 23 from new Jalan Tempua, Jalan Industri Hua and Jalan Kunci Air clusters, 560 from close contact screening, 57 from assorted screening.
– 173 cases in Sarawak : 22 from existing clusters, 11 from new Jalan Main Bazaar, Seng and Buloh Pasir clusters, 106 from close contact screening, 34 from assorted screening
– 134 cases in Johor : 23 from existing clusters, 10 from new Jalan Pelepas Dua Cluster, 52 from close contact screening, 49 from assorted screening
– 132 cases in Penang : 2 from existing clusters, 26 from new Lintang Bayan Lepas Cluster, 53 from close contact screening, 51 from assorted screening
– 103 cases in KL : 14 from existing clusters, 1 from new Jalan Laksamana Cluster, 38 from close contact screening, 50 from assorted screening
– 56 cases in Sabah : 4 from existing clusters, 42 from close contact screening, 10 from assorted screening
– 44 cases in Perak : 36 from existing cluster, 1 from new Jalan Laksamana Cluster, 4 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 43 cases in Kelantan : 9 from existing cluster, 24 from close contact screening, 10 from assorted screening
– 32 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 17 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
– 25 cases in Melaka : 19 from existing clusters, 6 from close contact screening
– 25 cases in Perlis : all from existing clusters
– 23 cases in Kedah : 1 from existing cluster, 13 from close contact screening, 9 from assorted screening
– 16 cases in Terengganu : 1 from existing cluster, 11 from new Ladang Bukit and Jalan Laksamana clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 4 cases in Pahang : 1 from existing cluster, 2 from close contact screening, 1 from close contact screening
– 4 cases in Putrajaya : 1 from existing cluster, 2 from close contact screening, 1 from close contact screening
– 3 cases in Labuan : 1 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 320,939, with 17,074 active cases – a big drop of 470 cases.
They also shared that there are no additional patients in the ICU – 147 cases right now, but 6 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 67 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 107,868 cases, followed by Sabah with 53,793 cases, Johor with 38,864 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 36,206 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 3 deaths today. That means a total of 1,203 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #1201 : Case 173406 was a 69 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.
Death #1202 : Case 296225 was a 69 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. She passed away at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1203 : Case 320410 was a 59 year-old foreign male, with history of diabetes. His body was brought to the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL
Day 59 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 59th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 18 March, 2021.
Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.

- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
