Malaysia reported 1671 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but discharged 1585 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 20 March 2021…

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1585 Patients Discharged!

On 20 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1585 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 316,042 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 95.3%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1671 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 1671 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

– 652 cases in Selangor : 213 from existing clusters, 283 from close contact screening, 156 from assorted screening.
– 328 cases in Penang : 213 from existing clusters, 2 from new Teluk Air Tawar Cluster, 70 from close contact screening, 43 from assorted screening
– 154 cases in Sarawak : 25 from existing clusters, 3 from new Tanjung Genting Cluster, 84 from close contact screening, 42 from assorted screening
– 130 cases in Johor : 16 from existing clusters, 39 from new Pekan Nanas Perindustrian Cluster, 43 from close contact screening, 32 from assorted screening
– 102 cases in Sabah : 1 from existing clusters, 43 from close contact screening, 58 from assorted screening
– 76 cases in KL : 1 from existing cluster, 44 from close contact screening, 31 from assorted screening
– 63 cases in Kelantan : 25 from existing clusters, 21 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening
– 46 cases in Kedah : 18 from existing clusters, 12 from close contact screening, 16 from assorted screening
– 37 cases in Perak : 16 from existing clusters, 4 from new Pulau Pisang Cluster, 9 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
– 32 cases in Terengganu : 27 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 25 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 6 from existing clusters, 14 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
– 18 cases in Melaka : 7 from existing cluster, 8 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 3 cases in Pahang : 2 from existing clusters, 1 from assorted screening
– 1 case in Labuan : from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 331,713, with 14,442 active cases – an increase of 82 cases.

They also shared that there are no additional patients in the ICU – 151 cases right now, but 7 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 64 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 111,550 cases, followed by Sabah with 54,209 cases, Johor with 39,873 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 36,952 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 4 deaths today. That means a total of 1,229 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1226 : Case 330796 was a 47 year-old Malaysian female, with history of Glioblastoma multiforme. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1227 : Case 240314 was a 83 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and COPD. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1228 : Case 307998 was a 74 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1229 : Case 327184 was a 68 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol and stroke. He passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Day 67 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 67th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
