COVID-19 in Malaysia : 354468 Cases, 339067 Discharged, 1304 Dead

Malaysia reported 1139 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but discharged 1199 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 7 April 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1199 Patients Discharged!

On 7 April 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1199 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 339,067 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 95.7%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1139 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 1139 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 13 cases imported from overseas
    – 7 in KL, 4 in Johor, 1 in Sarawak, 1 in Sabah
  • 1126 local cases
    – 331 cases in Sarawak : 36 from existing clusters, 125 from new Jalan Bangunan Kerajaan and Sungai Kawi clusters, 115 from close contact screening, 55 from assorted screening.
    – 294 cases in Selangor : 44 from existing clusters, 27 from new Jalan Simpang Balak and Jalan Keretapi clusters, 168 from close contact screening, 55 from assorted screening
    – 98 cases in Johor : 28 from existing clusters, 19 from new Jalan Persiaran Putri, Persiaran Indahputra Utama, Tembok Choh Dua and Highline clusters, 37 from close contact screening, 18 from assorted screening
    – 93 cases in Penang : 14 from existing clusters, 22 from new Jalan Padang Benggali and Sungai Kluang Empat clusters, 21 from close contact screening, 36 from assorted screening
    – 77 cases in KL : 5 from existing clusters, 48 from close contact screening, 24 from assorted screening
    – 59 cases in Sabah : 15 from existing clusters, 23 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening
    – 38 cases in Kelantan : 9 from existing clusters, 14 from close contact screening, 15 from assorted screening
    – 35 cases in Kedah
     : 8 from existing clusters, 8 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening
    – 30 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 7 from existing clusters, 13 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 24 cases in Perak : 5 from existing clusters, 12 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening
    – 23 cases in Pahang : 11 from existing clusters, 9 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
    – 13 cases in Melaka : 9 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
    – 10 cases in Terengganu : 4 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
    – 1 case in Labuan : from assorted screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 354,468, with 14,097 active cases – a drop of 64 cases.

They also shared that there are 5 additional patients in the ICU – 194 cases right now, and 2 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 86 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 118,328 cases, followed by Sabah with 55,294 cases, Johor with 41,956 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 38,408 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 4 deaths today. That means a total of 1,304 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1301 : Case 343652 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1302 : Case 344854 was a 75 year-old Malaysia male, with history of hypertension and bladder cancer. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1303 : Case 350431 was an 87 year-old Malaysia female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, tuberculosis, COAD and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak

Death #1304 : Case 352459 was a 76 year-old Malaysia female, with history of hypertension, heart disease and stroke. She passed away at the Kota Tinggi Hospital in Johor.

Day 85 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 85th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 14 April 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
