COVID-19 in Malaysia : 370528 Cases, 350563 Discharged, 1365 Dead

Malaysia reported 2551 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths, but discharged 1524 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 16 April 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1524 Patients Discharged!

On 16 April 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1524 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 350,563 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 94.6%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2551 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2551 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 29 cases imported from overseas
    – 21 in KL, 4 in Selangor, 3 in Sarawak, 1 in Labuan
  • 2522 local cases
    – 957 cases in Sarawak : 431 from existing clusters, 9 from new Jepak and Jalan Sultan Iskandar clusters, 452 from close contact screening, 65 from assorted screening.
    – 586 cases in Selangor : 81 from existing clusters, 3 from new Jalan Balakong Cluster, 404 from close contact screening, 98 from assorted screening.
    – 224 cases in KL : 2 from existing clusters, 5 from new Jalan Kia Peng Cluster, 151 from close contact screening, 66 from assorted screening.
    – 164 cases in Kelantan : 38 from existing clusters, 83 from close contact screening, 43 from assorted screening.
    – 143 cases in Sabah : 34 from existing clusters, 55 from new DTI Sandakan Cluster, 32 from close contact screening, 22 from assorted screening.
    – 121 cases in Johor : 70 from existing clusters, 23 from close contact screening, 28 from assorted screening.
    – 91 cases in Penang : 13 from existing clusters, 41 from close contact screening, 37 from assorted screening.
    – 53 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 30 from existing clusters, 3 from new DTI Lenggeng Cluster, 13 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening.
    – 49 cases in Perak
     : 30 from existing clusters, 12 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening.
    – 47 cases in Pahang : 15 from existing clusters, 15 from new Sri Layang Cluster, 12 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening.
    – 35 cases in Kedah : 15 from existing clusters, 11 from close contact screening, 9 from assorted screening.
    – 28 cases in Melaka : 21 from existing clusters, 3 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening.
    – 16 cases in Terengganu : 11 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening.
    – 6 cases in Putrajaya : 1 from existing cluster, 5 from close contact screening
    – 2 cases in Perlis : both from close contact screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 370,528, with 18,600 active cases – a huge increase of 1025 cases.

They also shared that there are 15 additional patients in the ICU – 227 cases right now, and 9 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 91 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 122,407 cases, followed by Sabah with 56,510 cases, Johor with 42,829 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 39,664 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 2 deaths today. That means a total of 1,365 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1364 : 79 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1365 : 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, heart disease and obesity. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Day 94 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 94th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 28 April 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
