COVID-19 in Malaysia : 372859 Cases, 352395 Discharged, 1370 Dead

Malaysia reported 2331 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, but discharged 1832 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 17 April 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1832 Patients Discharged!

On 17 April 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1832 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 352,395 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 94.5%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2551 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2551 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 372,859, with 19,094 active cases – a big increase of 494 cases.

They also shared that there are 2 fewer patients in the ICU – 225 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 92 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 123,158 cases, followed by Sabah with 56,673 cases, Johor with 42,929 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 39,916 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 5 deaths today. That means a total of 1,370 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1366 : 78 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and obesity. He passed away at the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1367 : 76 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. She passed away at the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1368 : 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1369 : 86 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1370 : 68 year-old Malaysian female, with history of heart disease. She passed away at the Miri Hospital in Sarawak.

 

Day 95 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 95th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 28 April 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
