Malaysia reported 2875 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, but discharged 2541 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 22 April 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2541 Patients Discharged!
On 22 April 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2541 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 361,267 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 93.9%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2875 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 2875 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 29 cases imported from overseas
– 26 in KL, 1 in Selangor, 1 in Sabah, 1 in Labuan - 2846 local cases
– 662 cases in Kelantan : 367 from existing clusters, 1 from new Mengkebang Cluster, 199 from close contact screening, 95 from assorted screening.
– 632 cases in Selangor : 17 from existing clusters, 70 from new Jalan Shah Banting, Jalan Rajini, Jalan Semtec and Jalan Salahuddin clusters, 443 from close contact screening, 102 from assorted screening.
– 474 cases in Sarawak : 24 from existing clusters, 2 from new Sungai Banus Cluster, 370 from close contact screening, 78 from assorted screening.
– 306 cases in KL : 1 from existing cluster, 2 from new Jalan Salahuddin Cluster, 184 from close contact screening, 119 from assorted screening.
– 169 cases in Johor : 76 from existing clusters, 12 from Jalan Industri Mekanikal and Jalan Skin Cluster, 60 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening.
– 159 cases in Sabah : 53 from existing clusters, 10 from new Kota Sawit Cluster, 61 from close contact screening, 35 from assorted screening.
– 144 cases in Penang : 58 from existing clusters, 43 from close contact screening, 43 from assorted screening.
– 91 cases in Kedah : 39 from existing clusters, 14 from new Dinamik Cluster, 26 from close contact screening, 12 from assorted screening.
– 55 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 18 from existing clusters, 10 from new Bangkahulu Cluster, 10 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening.
– 49 cases in Perak : 9 from existing clusters, 6 from new Taman Changkat Cluster, 21 from close contact screening, 13 from assorted screening.
– 42 cases in Melaka : 10 from new Jalan Pokok Mangga Cluster, 25 from close contact screening, 7 from assorted screening.
– 29 cases in Pahang : 5 from existing clusters, 20 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening.
– 22 cases in Terengganu : 1 from existing cluster, 21 from close contact screening.
– 10 case in Putrajaya : 2 from existing clusters, 7 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening.
– 2 cases in Labuan : both from close contact screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 384,688, with 22,014 active cases – an increase of 327 cases.
They also shared that there are no additional patients in the ICU – 248 cases right now, but 14 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 115 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor is at the top with 125,744 cases, followed by Sabah with 57,324 cases, Johor with 43,872 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 41,212 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 7 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 7 deaths today. That means a total of 1,407 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.
Death #1401 : 44 year-old Malaysian male, with history of gout and obesity. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #1402 : 80 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and COPD. He passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.
Death #1403 : 49 year-old Malaysian female, with history of chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kelantan.
Death #1404 : 54 year-old Malaysian female, with history of dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1405 : 71 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, gout, chronic kidney disease and thoracic aneurysm. He passed away at the Shah Alam Hospital in Selangor.
Death #1406 : 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of tuberculosis. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.
Death #1407 : 78 year-old foreign female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.
Day 100 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia
Today marks the 100th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 28 April 2021.
Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.

- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
