COVID-19 in Malaysia : 411594 Cases, 380442 Discharged, 1521 Dead

Malaysia reported 2881 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths, but discharged 2462 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 1 May 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2462 Patients Discharged!

On 1 May 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2462 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 377,980 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 92.5%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2881 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2881 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 16 cases imported from overseas
    – 12 in KL, 4 in Selangor
  • 2865 local cases
    – 755 cases in Selangor
    : 50 from existing clusters, 60 from new Jalan Sungai Sembilan and Lestari Perdana Tujuh clusters, 412 from close contact screening, 233 from assorted screening.
    – 445 cases in Sarawak : 42 from existing clusters, 73 from new Long Jegan, Durin and Sungai Nirai clusters, 235 from close contact screening, 95 from assorted screening.
    – 442 cases in Kelantan : 97 from existing clusters, 272 from close contact screening, 73 from assorted screening.
    – 310 cases in Johor : 173 from existing clusters, 11 from new Jalan Garuda and Persiaran Sinaran Ilmu clusters, 81 from close contact screening, 45 from assorted screening.
    – 303 cases in KL : 4 from existing clusters, 196 from close contact screening, 103 from assorted screening.
    – 133 cases in Penang : 15 from existing clusters, 42 from close contact screening, 76 from assorted screening.
    – 111 cases in Kedah : 57 from existing clusters, 37 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening.
    – 89 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 17 from existing clusters, 43 from close contact screening, 29 from assorted screening.
    – 64 cases in Perak
     : 15 from existing clusters, 1 from new Jalan Sepat Cluster, 23 from close contact screening, 25 from assorted screening.
    – 64 cases in Sabah : 17 from existing clusters, 3 from new Umar and Jalan Kilang Dua clusters, 31 from close contact screening, 13 from assorted screening.
    – 54 cases in Melaka : 8 from existing clusters, 19 from new Seri Jati, Air Budi and Sebatu clusters, 17 from close contact screening, 10 from assorted screening.
    – 47 cases in Pahang : 5 from existing clusters, 32 from close contact screening, 10 from assorted screening.
    – 42 cases in Terengganu : 8 from existing clusters, 13 from new Saujana Cluster, 19 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening.
    – 3 cases in Putrajaya : 2 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening.
    – 3 cases in Labuan : all from close contact screening

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 411,594, with 29,631 active cases – a big increase of 404 cases.

They also shared that there are 9 additional patients in the ICU – 337 cases right now, and 15 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 176 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 132,890 cases, followed by Sabah with 58,136 cases, Johor with 45,377 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 43,656 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 15 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 15 deaths today. That means a total of 1,521 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1507 : 35 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, obesity and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1508 : 74 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. He passed away at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #1509 : 68 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #1510 : 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Kajang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1511 : 72 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Bintulu Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1512 : 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1513 : 56 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1514 : 76 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension and lung disease. He passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital.

Death #1515 : 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Penang Hospital.

Death #1516 : 67 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sultanah Nur Zahira Hospital in Terengganu.

Death #1517 : 50 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes. He passed away at the Penang Hospital .

Death #1518 : 72 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Pasir Mas Hospital in Kelantan.

Death #1519 : 76 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the PPUM Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1520 : 76 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1521 : 87 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. She passed away at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.

Day 109 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 109th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 17 May 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
