COVID-19 in Malaysia : 415012 Cases, 383140 Discharged, 1533 Dead

Malaysia reported 3418 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, but discharged 2698 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 2 May 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2698 Patients Discharged!

On 2 May 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2698 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 383,140 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 92.3%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3418 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3418 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 10 cases imported from overseas
    – 7 in Labuan, 2 in KL, 1 in Selangor
  • 2408 local cases
    – 1199 cases in Selangor
    : 57 from existing clusters, 8 from new Kasawari Sembilan and Persiaran Raja clusters, 843 from close contact screening, 291 from assorted screening.
    – 587 cases in Sarawak : 178 from existing clusters, 35 from new Sains Bakam, Sungai Tengah, Sungai Sebemban and Sebujok clusters, 315 from close contact screening, 59 from assorted screening.
    – 400 cases in Kelantan : 36 from existing clusters, 299 from close contact screening, 65 from assorted screening.
    – 213 cases in Johor : 60 from existing clusters, 12 from new Jalan Sri Putri 2 Cluster, 80 from close contact screening, 61 from assorted screening.
    – 196 cases in KL : 5 from existing clusters, 122 from close contact screening, 69 from assorted screening.
    – 184 cases in Terengganu : 176 from existing clusters, 7 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening.
    – 145 cases in Penang : 18 from existing clusters, 59 from close contact screening, 68 from assorted screening.
    – 115 cases in Sabah : 50 from existing clusters, 50 from close contact screening, 15 from assorted screening.
    – 101 cases in Kedah
     : 32 from existing clusters, 26 from new Jalan Junjong, Kiara Jaya and Limau Karangan clusters, 29 from close contact screening, 14 from assorted screening.
    – 77 cases in Perak : 22 from existing clusters, 36 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening.
    – 73 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 15 from existing clusters, 39 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening.
    – 61 cases in Melaka : 26 from existing clusters, 1 from new Jalan Emas Cluster, 20 from close contact screening, 14 from assorted screening.
    – 43 cases in Pahang : 3 from existing clusters, 25 from close contact screening, 17 from assorted screening.
    – 8 cases in Putrajaya : 6 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening.
    – 4 cases in Perlis : all from existing clusters

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 415,012, with 30,339 active cases – a big increase of 708 cases.

They also shared that there are 8 additional patients in the ICU – 345 cases right now, and 1 fewer patient requiring respiratory support – 175 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 134,849 cases, followed by Sabah with 58,315 cases, Johor with 45,900 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 44,169 cases.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 12 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 12 deaths today. That means a total of 1,533 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.37%.

Death #1522 : 63 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Seri Manjung Hospital in Perak.

Death #1523 : 67 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Tanah Merah Hospital in Kelantan.

Death #1524 : 56 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Segamat Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.

Death #1525 : 66 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor.

Death #1526 : 64 year-old Malaysian male, with history of hypertension, stroke and Parkinsonism. He passed away at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.

Death #1527 : 81 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and tuberculosis. She passed away at the Tanah Merah Hospital in Kelantan.

Death #1528 : 83 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes and hypertension. Her body was brought to the Mukah Hospital in Sarawak.

Death #1529 : 83 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. Her body was brought to the Pasir Mas Hospital in Kelantan.

Death #1530 : 61 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity. He passed away at the Kajang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #1531 : 73 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor.

Death #1532 : 86 year-old Malaysian male, with history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. He passed away at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in KL.

Death #1533 : 89 year-old Malaysian female, with history of diabetes, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and heart disease. She passed away at the Sibu Hospital in Sarawak.

Day 110 Of CMCO / RMCO 2.0 In Malaysia

Today marks the 110th day of the CMCO / RMCO 2.0 which will last until 17 May 2021.

Under CMCO / RMCO 2.0, inter-district travel is allowed, but not interstate travel. And businesses are allowed to operate, subject to SOP.
