COVID-19 in Malaysia : 6th EMCO Area Locked Down!

The Malaysian government just ordered the 6th EMCO (Enhanced Movement Control Order), locking down 8 parcels in Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur!

COVID-19 in Malaysia : 6th EMCO Area Locked Down!

On 20 April 2020, the Malaysian government announced their 6th EMCO (Enhancement Movement Control Order), encompassing eight parcels in Kuala Lumpur :

Parcel A: Jalan 6/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel B:  Jalan 6/3A dan 9/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel C: Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel D:  Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E1: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E2: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E3: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel F: Taman Batu View dan Taman Batu Hampar, Kuala Lumpur

Under the advice of the Health Ministry, the Enhanced Movement Control Order will take place immediately on 20 April and will last until 3 May 2020.

 

What Happens During The 6th EMCO

The 6th Enhanced Movement Control Order aims to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the residential areas of Pusat Bandar Utama and the KL / Selayang Wholesale Market, through these methods :

The Malaysia Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, however, said that the Selayang Wholesale Market will remain open :

The wholesale market is not closed. We are just closing the housing area around it, especially involving the many Rohingya people who holds the UNHCR card. The wholesale market is still open as usual.
