Tabligh Participant Shamed Into Getting Tested For COVID-19!

Remember the Tabligh participant who refused to get tested for COVID-19? The viral post by a conscientious witness, Mohd Dahlan, shamed him into getting tested!

Here is an update on that gobsmacking case of selfishness, and why we need to STAND UP against such thoughtless people!

This Tabligh Participant Refused To Be Tested For COVID-19?

On the night of 14 March 2020, Mohd Dahlan Mohd Noor sat down at the Wan Peppered Egg (Wan Telur Berlada) restaurant in Klang, when he overheard a shocking conversation.

One man allegedly told another person he was refusing to be tested for COVID-19 even though he attended the Tabligh gathering!

COVID-19 : This Tabligh Participant Refused To Be Tested?

Why bother? If we die, we die. There’s no need to go for any check-up. We go to the mosque, preach.

At a time when the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) was frantically trying to locate the roughly 14,500 Malaysian participants to get tested for COVID-19, many apparently refused to step forward.

Despite pleading for them to come and get tested, KKM tested just under 5,000 Tabligh participants by 14 March 2020.

Mohd Dahlan was criticised by many for posting on the issue, and he received messages that the man was just joking and he had already been tested at the Klang Hospital.

A representative of the Kampung Kuantan Mosque announced that all Tabligh participants from Kampung Kuantan had already been screened for COVID-19 at the Bukit Kuda clinic and the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR).

Instead of folding, Mohd Dahlan emailed the Director General of Health, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah to inform him of this issue.

On 18 March 2020, someone sent him a photo – evidence that the man underwent a medical check-up for COVID-19.

Ironically, the photo actually proved that that particular Tabligh participant only went for the check-up on 16 March 2020 – two days AFTER Mohd Dahlan’s post went viral!

So we now know for sure that it took Mohd Dahlan to speak up and expose this particular Tabligh participant, to force the man to step forward and get checked for COVID-19.

Stand Up Like Mohd Dahlan!

The COVID-19 pandemic is getting worse by the day, and at least two have already died from it in Malaysia.

We Malaysians have to STAND UP like Mohd Dahlan, and expose or speak up against thoughtless and selfish people like this particular Tabligh participant.

Fighting COVID-19 requires ALL OF US to DO OUR PART. If you see someone putting other people at risk, like this man, expose them and speak up!

They may not care about their lives, but as I always tell people – suicide is meant to be a solitary hobby!

To Mohd Dahlan, I say this – thank you for speaking up!
