Massive Pipe Burst + Sinkhole At First Avenue, 1 Utama!

A major pipe just burst next to First Avenue, 1 Utama… and has apparently flooded its car park, and created a large sinkhole nearby!

This is a developing story, but here are the first slew of photos and videos of the massive pipe burst and sinkhole at First Avenue!

 

The Massive Pipe Burst + Sinkhole At First Avenue, 1 Utama!

We don’t know much about this incident, and will update the article as and when we get more information. But this is what we know so far :

• At around 10 AM, there was a major pipe burst along Dataran Bandar Utama.
• The incident appears to have happened in the construction area owned by See Hoy Chan directly opposite First Avenue.
• Unfortunately, the water flow from this massive pipe burst has flooded B4 and possibly B3 levels of the First Avenue parking lot.
• However, it looks like people were warned quickly enough to evacuate their cars
• A 10 meter section of the road along Dataran Bandar Utama collapsed into a sinkhole, but no one was injured and no vehicles were damaged.
• Power to the First Avenue office building was cut due to worry about a power trip, so their occupants “evacuated” to the lobby and surrounding area for about 15 minutes.
• Air Selangor eventually shut off water supply which affected about 5,000 households in Bandar Utama 1 to 10
• Air Selangor completed the repair at around midnight the same day, restoring water supply to the affected units
