Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo : Official Statement
Here is the most recent official statement by Jaya Grocer on the COVID-19 exposure at their Sunway Geo store.
Dear Valued Customers,
Upon learning that one of our cashiers at Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo Avenue tested positive for COVID-19, we immediately decided to close Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo Avenue at 4pm today, 27th July 2021, in order for our staff to undergo RT-PCR swab tests in compliance with the Ministry of Health’s regulations. The cashier’s last day of work was on 25th July 2021. As per our standard modus operandi, we will be quarantining all close contacts of the aforementioned staff.
Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo Avenue will be cleaned and sanitised today in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health by a government-approved, third-party company. Please note that all of our fresh produce will be replaced to ensure freshness.
Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo Avenue will reopen tomorrow on Wednesday, 28th July 2021. All returning staff will consist of individuals who have tested negative and are not close contacts of the aforementioned staff.
Please rest assured that your safety remains our utmost priority. Thank you for your continuous support. Please stay safe and healthy.
THE MANAGEMENT OF JAYA GROCER
Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo COVID-19 Case : What’s The Risk?
Anyone who shopped at Jaya Grocer Sunway Geo on or before 25 July 2021, should be wary and self-quarantine if possible.
The risk will be low if both the affected employees and all customers wore face masks, and maintained physical distance.
The Ministry of Health will be conducting contact tracing for all positive cases, and those identified as close contacts will be asked to self-quarantine and get tested.
Let this be a reminder why it is critical that you wear a face mask in public at all times – they greatly reduce the risk of infection.
You should also maintain good hand hygiene by cleaning with soap and water, or a hand sanitiser.
COVID-19 is easily destroyed by soap, so even a simple cleaning operation will definitely clean the store of any infectious particles, albeit only temporarily.
