After the National Security Council issued their FAQ on the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, MBPJ announced that they are allowing food outlets to remain open with certain conditions.

The National Security Council has already confirmed that food and beverage outlets will be allowed to open, but only to offer takeaways and home deliveries.

MBPJ : Food Outlets Open With Conditions During Lockdown!

Here in Petaling Jaya, MBPJ just confirmed that with an official statement detailing what food outlets are allowed to remain open, and the restrictions they must comply with.

Here is our English translation.

All food premises (restaurants / cafes / smart trucks) may operate as usual under the following conditions: –

  • Food vendors are prohibited from serving food on-premise and can only sell packaged food for “take away” or “delivery” services.
  • Customers are not allowed to eat and drink inside or outside the premises.

Night markets / morning markets / farmers’ markets / Council stalls / hawkers are temporarily directed to stop business activities.

The Council’s public market is allowed to operate normally but can only sell everyday necessities to the public. However, traders selling food and beverage are subject to the following conditions:

  • Food vendors are prohibited from serving food on-premise and can only sell packaged food for “take away” or “delivery” services.
  • Customers are not allowed to eat and drink inside or outside the premises.

Semua premis makanan (restoran/kafe/smart trak) beroperasi sepeti biasa dengan syarat-syarat berikut:-

  • Pengusaha makanan adalah dilarang menyajikan makanan di premis dan hanya boleh menyediakan perkhidmatan menjual makanan berbungkus sahaja dan diambil secara terus “take away” atau pun perkhidmatan penghantaran makanan “delivery”.
  • Pelanggan tidak dibenarkan makan dan minum di dalam dan luar premis makanan.

Operasi pasar malam / pasar pagi / pasar tani / gerai Majlis / penjaja sementara diarahkan untuk memberhentikan aktiviti perniagaan.

Pasar awam Majlis dibenarkan beroperasi seperti biasa tetapi hanya boleh menjual barangan keperluan harian kepada orang awam. Walaubagaimanapun bagi peniaga yang terlibat dengan aktiviti menjual makanan dan minuman adalah tertakluk kepada syarat-syarat seperti berikut :

  • Peniaga makanan adalah dilarang menyajikan makanan di premis dan hanya boleh menyediakan perkhidmatan menjual makanan berbungkus sahaja dan diambil secara terus “take away” atau pun perkhidmatan penghantaran makanan “delivery”.
  • Pelanggan tidak dibenarkan makan dan minum di dalam dan luar premis atau sekitar tapak perniagaan.
