MCO / CMCO / RMCO : Extended To 4 March 2021!

Malaysia just extended MCO restrictions to 4 March 2021, with some states downgraded to CMCO and RMCO restrictions.

Here are the details of what the Malaysia National Security Council just announced!

 

MCO / CMCO / RMCO : Extended To 4 March 2021!

Malaysia just extended MCO restrictions to 4 March 2021, with some states downgraded to CMCO and RMCO restrictions.

MCO (Movement Control Order) Areas

These states and federal territories will continue with MCO / PKP restrictions until 4 March 2021.

• Kuala Lumpur
• Selangor
• Johor
• Penang

CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) Areas

These states and federal territories will come under CMCO / PKPB restrictions from 19 February until 4 March 2021.

• Sabah
• Pahang
• Negeri Sembilan
• Terengganu
• Kelantan
• Perak
• Melaka
• Kedah
• Labuan
• Putrajaya

Sarawak will continue with the same CMCO / PKPB restrictions from 15 February until 1 March 2021.

RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order) Areas

Perlis will come under RMCO / PKPP restrictions from 19 February until 4 March 2021.

 

Extended MCO / CMCO / RMCO : Existing SOP To Continue

According to Malaysia Defence Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, the existing SOP for MCO / CMCO / RMCO will apply.

Here is a quick summary of their key SOPs :

MCO / PKP SOP

• Two (2) persons are allowed to leave each household, in the same vehicle, to purchase food and other necessities.
• Restaurants (including those in pubs and night clubs), cafes, hawker stalls, roadside stalls, food courts, food trucks are allowed to open from 6 AM to 10 PM.
• Dine-in is only allowed for up to two (2) persons per table.
• Supermarkets are allowed to open from 6 AM to 10 PM.
• Groceries and convenience stores are allowed to open from 6 AM to 10 PM.
• All public and private schools, institutions of higher learning, vocational training institutes, kindergartens, day care centres, tahfiz centres, public parks and recreation centres must close.
• Running and jogging allowed, but limited to maximum of two (2) family members
• Night clubs and pubs are FORBIDDEN.
• Theme parks, indoor playgrounds, family karaoke and cinemas are FORBIDDEN.

CMCO / PKPB SOP

• Only two persons from each household are allowed to dine-in at any restaurant / cafe.
• Interstate travel is forbidden, except for work, economic or industrial purposes.
• All business, economic and industrial activity can proceed as usual.
• Supermarkets, shopping malls and retail stores are allowed, between 6 AM and 12 AM.
• Restaurants, food stores, food trucks, hawkers, food courts, food stalls, food kiosks, groceries and convenience stores are allowed to open from 6 AM until 12 AM.
• Taxis and e-hailing vehicles are limited to 2 passengers, and allowed to operate from 6 AM until 12 midnight.
• Food deliveries are allowed to operate from 6 AM until 12 midnight.
• Entertainment centres, pubs and night clubs are forbidden to open.
• Theme parks, indoor playgrounds and cinemas are forbidden to open.
• Individual sporting activities and non-contact recreation or those performed individually and not involving more than 10 people, like walking, jogging, cycling, aerobics, hiking, fishing, and so on are permitted.
• Picnics, swimming pool activities and contact sports are forbidden.
• All public and private schools, institutions of higher learning, vocational training institutes, kindergartens, day care centres, tahfiz centres, public parks and recreation centres must close.

RMCO / PKPP SOP

• Private and commercial vehicles are allowed to carry up to their maximum passenger capacity.
• Public transportation, like buses, express buses, LRT / MRT / ERL / Monorail / ferry / airlines / taxi / e-hailing vehicles are allowed to operate as normal.
• Food delivery services are allowed to operate from 6 AM until 2 AM.
• All business, economic and industrial activity can proceed as usual.
• All religious activities are allowed, subject to the relevant SOPs.
• Entertainment centres, pubs and night clubs are forbidden to open, except for F&B services.
• Theme parks, indoor playgrounds and cinemas are allowed to open.
• All sports and recreational activities are allowed, subject to the Sports & Recreation Sector SOP.
• All public and private schools, institutions of higher learning, vocational training institutes, kindergartens, day care centres, tahfiz centres, public parks and recreation centres are allowed to operate as usual.
