Those who are headed to the Mutiara Damansara area, please take note.
If you are coming from LDP and intend to use the slip road to Jalan PJU 7/1 to get to Tesco Mutiara Damansara, The Curve or Mutiara Homes, please note that that slip road is now BLOCKED to traffic.
MMC Gamuda closed off that slip road as part of their construction work on the Mutiara Damansara MRT station.
They created a single contraflow lane on the opposite side to replace the slip road. Please use this contraflow lane, instead of going behind Surian Tower.
Here is MRT Corp’s press release on the contraflow lane :
This long-term traffic management plan will be implemented in the vicinity of Surian Tower and BU4 residential area. The road in front of BU residences from the junctions of Jalan PJU 7/1 to PJU 7/8 (Kota Damansara-bound and LDP Highway bound) will be closed to accommodate Mutiara Damansara MRT Station Entrance A works. Motorists will be diverted to use the newly opened contraflow lanes in front of Surian Tower for this 150m stretch.
This contra-flow diversion will last 3 months, until the 21st of December 2015.
Video Showing The Contraflow Lane @ Mutiara Damansara
Due to the poor signage, I have seen many drivers head behind Surian Tower, to cut across Jalan PJU 7/1. Although this is legal, it is dangerous – several accidents have occurred in this location. To aid you, I created this video to show you where to turn into the contraflow lane.
Please share this information with everyone so that they won’t get lost. Non-residents, especially, might be thrown off by the diversion and turn into and get lost in the IKEA area instead.
