Night Clubs, Bars + Pubs Will Be Allowed To Operate Again!
On 27 April 2022, the Malaysia Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin announced a wide range of COVID-19 liberalisation moves :
- MySejahtera Check-In + Physical Distancing Will Be Optional!
- Day 4 Test + Release For COVID-19 Positive In Malaysia!
- No More COVID-19 Test / Insurance For Travel To Malaysia!
- Face Mask Will Not Be Required Outdoors In Malaysia!
- Unvaccinated People Will Be Allowed To Enter All Premises!
Starting Sunday, May 15, 2022, night clubs, bars and pubs – which are currently in the Negative List – will be permitted to resume, pending protocols by the respective authorities.
This will be a relief for night clubs, bars and pubs that had to shut down their main business activities for over two years.
In addition, all business premises – including night clubs, bars and pubs – will be allowed to operate at 100% venue capacity, and both MySejahtera check-in and physical distancing will no longer be required.
However, please note that this will only take effect on May 15, and not May 1 like the other COVID-19 liberalisation announced by the government.
