Restoran New Apollos Closed After COVID-19 Death + Cases!

Restoran New Apollos in USJ4 has been closed indefinitely after three COVID-19 cases were detected, resulting in one death.

The Lei Cha stall owner at Restoran New Apollos fell ill last week, but came to work until Saturday, 24 July 2021.

She tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, 26 July 2021, but succumbed the next day – Tuesday, 27 July 2021.

Restoran New Apollos then conducted a screening of all stall owners and employees, detecting two more COVID-19 cases – stall employees who are now under self-quarantine.

The Management decided to close Restoran New Apollos from 28 July 2021 until further notice, to arrange for a full disinfection of all stalls, and another round of COVID-19 tests.

They also advise all of their customers who came to their restaurant recently to get tested for COVID-19.

Restoran New Apollos COVID-19 Cases : What’s The Risk?

Anyone who visited Restoran New Apollos on or before 27 July 2021, should be wary and self-quarantine if possible.

The risk will be low if both the affected stall owners, employees and all customers wore face masks, and maintained physical distance.

The Ministry of Health will be conducting contact tracing for all positive cases, and those identified as close contacts will be asked to self-quarantine and get tested.

Let this be a reminder why it is critical that you wear a face mask in public at all times – they greatly reduce the risk of infection.

You should also maintain good hand hygiene by cleaning with soap and water, or a hand sanitiser.

COVID-19 is easily destroyed by soap, so even a simple cleaning operation will definitely clean the restaurant of any infectious particles, albeit only temporarily.

Restoran New Apollos Statement On COVID-19 Cases

This was the official statement from Restoran New Apollos on their COVID-19 cases :

Good evening to all our valued customers,

With a very heavy heart we would like to inform that the Lei Cha stall manager at Restoran New Apollos was tested positive for Stage 1 Covid-19 on Monday 26/7. She fell ill last week and the day she came to work was on Saturday 24/7.

Aunty went for check-up and followed self quarantine as instructed. Unfortunately she succumbed to the virus at home today 27/7. Aunty is a kind hearted woman and passionate with her job. She will definitely be missed by all.

As such, for safety reasons our restaurant conducted a screening of all the stall owners and employees. As a result of the screening, 2 employees were tested positive and are now undergoing self quarantine.

Our restaurant will arrange a full disinfection of all stalls. It will be temporarily closed from the 28/7 until further notice.

All stall owners and employees will conduct another round of screening before our restaurant re-opens to ensure the safety of all employees and customers.

We advice customers who came to our restaurant during this period, please screen for Covid-19 as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
