SMK Taman Sea : Teacher Tested Positive For COVID-19?

According to a letter circulating on social media, the principal for SMK Taman Sea announced that a teacher at the school has tested positive on the 3rd swab test taken on 5 October 2020.

SMK Taman Sea : Teacher Tested Positive For COVID-19?

This teacher was a close contact to a COVID-19 positive patient in Kelantan, and had been under self-quarantine since 30 September 2020.

As a result of that positive COVID-19 test result, the Petaling District Health Office ordered all students from the 1C, 2K, 2B and 2J classes, as well as several other teachers to undergo home quarantine while awaiting their swab test results.

SMK Taman Sea COVID-19 Infection : Verified?

SMK Taman Sea has not responded to a request to verify this information, but a parent verified it with her son’s teacher at the school.

If you have further information on this case, please do let us know!

Apparently, the teacher went back to Kelantan to take care of his son who was COVID-19 positive. However, he had not returned to the school since then.

If true, then there was no risk of exposure to the school, teachers and students; and the home quarantine and tests were just undertaken out of an abundance of caution.
