After shutting down a dirty tempe factory, DBKL shut down a bread factory in Taman Gembira.

Disgusting Bread Factory @ Taman Gembira Shut Down!

On Thursday, 24 September 2020, a 6-member team from the DBKL Food Quality Unit inspected a bread factory in Taman Gembira, Jalan Kuchai Lama.

They discovered that this bread factory was unhygienic, shutting it down under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983, based on these reasons :

• the cleanliness of the premise was unsatisfactory
• raw materials were placed on the floor
• food preparation was conducted on the floor
• the food processing equipment were dirty and in poor condition
• they used water from a dirty toilet
• there were signs of rat droppings in the store rooms for equipment and raw materials

But they also found that all ten employees (6 of them foreign workers) had typhoid vaccinations.
