The Tesco 100th Anniversary Scam Exposed (Short Version)

  • Tesco was founded in 1919. Their 100th anniversary would fall on the year 2019… not 2018.
  • We contacted Tesco Malaysia, and they confirmed that this is a scam, and that many people have called them up today to ask about the RM 250 voucher.
  • The link is fake, and leads you to a fake survey unrelated to Tesco.
  • The survey itself is not important, other than to make it look authentic.
  • The main purpose is to scam you into subscribing for a US$ 49.99 service called Organize Jobs.
  • Their secondary purpose is probably to harvest your personal information, for resale to other scammers, or to use in phishing attacks.
  • You are NOT going to receive any Tesco voucher or iPhone X. THIS IS A SCAM.
  • We identified three culprits in this scam – Amazing-Deals.pw, OrganizeJobs.net and RadiUniverse.com.

I Got Fooled! What Should I Do?

Don’t panic. It does not appear that they stole anything from you… yet. But they have already collected your credit card information, and personal information.

  1. Call up your bank and immediately void the credit card payment.
  2. Check your credit card statements, and dispute any payment from RadiUniverse and OrganizeJobs, or those you deem suspicious.
  3. If possible, ask your bank to cancel the credit card you used in this payment, and issue a new one.
  4. Write an email to [email protected] to cancel your free trial. Keep a copy of the email you sent, as evidence that you have already requested to be removed from their “free trial”.
  5. Be VERY CAREFUL about any future offers or warnings by email or messages from even trusted sources like your banks or friends. Remember – these people now have your personal information!
  6. BE VERY CAREFUL if you receive phone calls from people who claim to be from a bank or some other trusted institution (police, Bank Negara, etc.). NEVER call them back on their number. ALWAYS GOOGLE for the official contact numbers, and call them directly to verify.
  7. Write to [email protected] to report that the xn--tsco-lu5a.com domain is being used to facilitate a scam.
  8. Write to [email protected] to report that the tesco.com.a-free.win domain is being used to facilitate a scam.
  9. Write to [email protected] to report that the amazing-deals.pw domain is being used to facilitate a scam.
  10. Write to [email protected] to report that the organizejobs.net domain is being used to facilitate a scam.
  11. Write to [email protected] to report that the radiuniverse.com domain is being used to facilitate a scam.
