UOB Malaysia just announced a 2-week closure of their UOB Kepong branch, after an employee tested positive for COVID-19! Here are the details…

On 22 September 2020, UOB Malaysia announced that an employee at their UOB Kepong branch tested positive for COVID-19.

This is the UOB branch located at the Medan Putra Business Centre in Sri Menjalara, Kuala Lumpur.

As a result, they are temporarily closing the UOB Kepong branch from 22 September until 5 October 2020, for a deep cleaning exercise.

This includes the UOB Kepong branch’s self-servicing banking facilities, so UOB customers are advised to proceed to either the UOB Kota Damansara or UOB Damansara Uptown branches instead.

Of course, it’s always advisable to perform whatever banking you can online, during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Dear Customers,

We regret to announce that one of our employees based in this branch has been affected by the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

In caring for the health and safety of our customers and colleagues, we are temporarily closing this branch for a deep cleaning exercise. The branch will resume operations on 06 October 2020. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you require over-the-counter services, you may proceed to our nearest branches located at Kota Damansara and Damansara Uptown.

In light of the COVID-19 situation, UOB Malaysia remains committed to ensuring the well-being of our customers and our employees.

We have taken the precautionary measure of asking our teams to self-quarantine and to work from home for a period of 14 days. As a result of these preventive measures, we are temporarily closing this branch and the self-service banking facilities from 22 September until 05 October 2020.

Branch operations will resume on 06 October 2020. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :

  • Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
  • Avoid public events and crowds
  • Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
  • Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
  • If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
  • Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
